Pops in Piscataway, New Jersey Interior Design
This project was a single room redesign. The space is located at the entrance of the home. We wanted to make this room function as a family space as well as a space to entertain guests.
A particularly long room, we wanted to create a central space of seating around the fireplace and then have smaller seating areas off of this space. To create the central seating space, we paired a cozy loveseat with a short arm bench, both in muted neutral colors. We then added three leather ottomans in various heights opposite of the bench. The vibrant yellow ottoman paired with the other earthy toned ottomans play nicely with the colors of the pillows on both the sofa and the bench. Tying the central space together is a muted gray and blue area rug with a square blue stone top cocktail table.
Along the wall opposite the fireplace, we added traditionally printed window treatments with black hardware. In between both windows, we added a few family photos. We then added a cozy white chair in the corner of the room paired with an ottoman. A standing lamp makes this corner perfect for reading or answering emails. An existing piano finishes off this side of the room.
On the other side of the room, we accessorized the beautiful existing cabinets with greenery, family photos, knick knacks and books. We kept the existing chess table and carved chairs in the area near the window.
We were happy to see this space transform into a great entertaining and family space.
