Interior Design Sea Girt, NJ

Sailing through Sea Girt, New Jersey Interior Design

This coastal home is just blocks away from the beach in Sea Girt. The home is three stories with an awesome entertaining space in the basement. The clients wanted this home to be a getaway to the beach not only for their family but for their many friends.

In the living room, we paired a cozy, neutral sofa with four indigo denim swivel chairs grounded by a fun pom pom, washed blue area rug and rustic, oversized coffee table. Two gray bone herringbone side tables adorn either side of the sofa. A multitude of accessories in each of the bookcases as well as on the coffee table make the space feel like home.

Behind the sofa, we added a rustic reclaimed wood console table with a concrete top. For some additional seating, we stored two woven ottomans under the console. On the adjacent wall, we added a small white, coastal console table paired with bar accessories. Above the console, a rustic map of Sea Girt is custom framed for display.

In the formal dining room, we chose a custom, deep blue dining table. For seating, we added six blue velvet dining chairs with an intricate nailhead detail and two washed gray, winged head chairs. A sweet and shallow, weathered gray chest sits behind the dining table. The chest is paired with two, three-light wall sconces and a rustic gray/blue mirror.

The outdoor space was not being used previously. It is a screened in porch area with red decking that is carried outside near the pool. We created a cozy little space by choosing a simple, light gray sofa and swivel chair. In the adjacent corner we paired an antique rust bistro table with two gray mesh dining chairs, making this area perfect for morning coffee. A light teak coffee table and a printed navy and cream outdoor area rug tie the space together.

Four bedrooms make up the second floor. In the master, a soft gray upholstered bed became the focal point of the room. We chose two, three drawer nightstands in a weathered white finish. Rustic aqua lamps sit atop each nightstand. We also added soft blue-green floral wall decor made of tamarind wood above the bed. A plush, white upholstered bench sits at the bottom of the bed. The room is completed with a washed blue textured area rug.

The guest bedroom would function as their son’s room, so we wanted to make the space a bit more masculine. We chose a gray, low-profile upholstered bed and a washed gray and white area rug. Nautical artwork completes this bedroom.

For the other guest bedroom, we wanted to make the clients’ guests feel welcome and ready to enjoy the beach. We chose two custom upholstered headboards with polished nickel nailhead detail for each twin bed. White, cream and light blue bedding, really allowed the muted blue headboards to pop. A washed walnut chest with carved detailed served at the center nightstand for both beds. We paired it with a cool blue table lamp.

For the third story guest bedroom, we wanted to mimic the idea of twin beds again to maximize the amount of guests the clients could host. In this room, we chose two rusticly woven wicker headboards for each twin bed. We paired each bed with crisp white bedding and added a coral pop with a pillow. A coastal nightstand and lamp complete this look. We also added two custom sleeper sofas to the third floor for additional guests.

In the basement, the space already had an awesome custom finished bar to work with. We added a giant custom sectional, a custom printed area rug and a carved coffee table. Behind the sofa we kept the existing bar table and chairs. We added four custom winged lounge chairs along the wall as well as a few end tables to complete the space.

What the Client Had To Say:

We are beyond happy with the work of Lisa and her Evenflow team. After the purchase of a summer home we were daunted by the prospect of furnishing the entire house and our wishes to have it done in 6 months. After reading the stellar reviews, we met with Lisa and were immediately impressed with her talent and process. She asked all the right questions and brought us a design that embodies what we wanted the space to be. There are times when words fail to describe talent and this is one of those times. We will be happy to recommend her over and over again; thanks to Evenflow it is a dream come true for us. Not only is every room perfect, but every accessory and small detail is complementary. In addition to all that, she, Rick and the team are a pleasure: responsive, patient, and flexible with meetings. I’d be lucky to work with them again!
