We have worked with Lisa and Rick of Evenflow Interiors for several years on our home in New Jersey and our condo in Manhattan. They have done design, remodeling, construction, built ins, interior furnishings, lighting, and final details including artwork and nicknacks. They are magicians and have turned our homes into places of beauty. The furniture they find are unique conversation pieces and the prices are very reasonable. We had in the past worked with other decorators in Florida and Manhattan and paid a lot more and had stressful experiences. Working with Lisa and Rick was easy since they managed everything professionally, efficiently, and on time. They are very knowledgable and dependable and we would recommend them without reservation and will definitely use them again.
My wife, kids, and I have a little beach retreat condo that we re-did years ago, but never quite finished. I interviewed several design firms to help finish the design and decoration in a way that built upon what was already in place. I chose to work with Lisa and Rick, based on their design vision, reliability, and timeline. They exceeded expectations across all three dimensions. The place looks great (pictures speak for themselves). Lisa and Rick kept to a tight timeline, so that our place was ready to enjoy at the start of the season in early May. Given my full time work load and busy family life, I was very appreciative of Lisa’s flexibility and responsiveness throughout the project. True professionals.
We were in our home for 3 years and struggled with what we considered a design dilemma, an open floor plan kitchen/dining/family area that didn’t function or flow properly or have defined spaces.
When we decided to bring in an interior designer finding Lisa was the answer we needed! From the initial meeting through to the big reveal it was the most wonderful experience. Lisa came up with a fantastic design and her furnishing selections were outstanding, it wasn’t hard to choose as we would have loved anything she presented. She really listened to what we wanted the space to be and knew how to pull it all together in a fabulous way. Lisa was there every step of the way, answered all of our questions, and was a great communicator. We trusted her implicitly and all the design elements and choices were outstanding. The day of the big reveal was so exciting to see it all pull together. Every accessory and placement was perfection.

Evenflow Interiors has helped us decorate our home in New Jersey and our condo in Manhattan. We have been extremely happy with their work. Before I hired Lisa, I read several articles on how to evaluate an interior designer. Now that I’m planning my third project with her in less than a year, I’ve listed below several examples of problems Lisa helped solve. Lisa’s talent and professional excellence are undeniable. She is also an incredibly down to earth person, asks a ton of insightful questions, accurately estimates and manages a budget, and knows how to get things done. Since most of you will likely only read this paragraph, I’ll say this: Give Lisa a call, discuss your project, and prepare to be really impressed by a really impressive woman.
1. Lisa helped us recover from a huge architectural error when a large addition to our house left several rooms with odd layouts. She designed floor plans that somehow made each space work. Her tricks with paint selections, cabinet colors and creating zones for our large and oddly shaped mud/laundry room were nothing short of magic. I can honestly say my mom and I are in love with the laundry room – which neither of us thought would be possible.
2. She mediated between my parents who have incredibly different design tastes and pulled together jaw-dropping selections of tiles, countertops, cabinets, colors, furniture and accents that somehow they both could miraculously and wholeheartedly agree to.
If your other half would “just not go for a decorator” have them meet Lisa.
3. Lisa gets things done. We hired her mid-construction and she immediately connected with the head and sub-contractors and even with their preferred vendors. She didn’t push her vendors, but always had a Rolodex available when we needed to find quality people. She adapted into exactly the role we needed her to play. She’s even been our bulldog, dealing with our contractor and subcontractors and pushing for progress and clear timelines. It's such a pleasure to now have her at the beginning of our new projects, which make the process SO much smoother!!!
4. She can effectively deal with difficult people.
My dad is obstinate about what he wants, how he wants it, his opinion on cost and whether something is necessary. However Lisa’s straightforward, organized, affordable and reliable demeanor and actions completely won him over.
5. She’s accessible and listens.
My mom and I had the best time discussing ideas with Lisa. She was incredibly accessible to our thousands of questions. She truly listened to the ideas and desires of BOTH of my parents. She somehow got my dad to talk about what was important to him despite him repeatedly saying he was only interested in the “structure” of the house and "didn’t care" about design. She found a way to please them both, and I’m still in awe. She also can deal with a full range of ideas from well thought out to half-baked, and hammer them out until it’s feasible, affordable, and executable.
6. She designs for you – not for her.
This point may be redundant with #5, but it’s worth saying that me being an engineer I naturally prioritized function over how pretty something looked. What really impressed me about Lisa’s approach was she respected the fact you had to live in the space after it’s all said and decorated. She’s not just designing a space for a pretty picture on Houzz, each design serves a real function. Her walk-throughs, insightful questions, and thoughtful presentations really demonstrated that she listened to us. And because she communicated her design vision so clearly, we could give her critical feedback and reach a consensus on the final design.
Lisa is the whole package. I wholeheartedly recommend her for whatever project you’ve got in mind.
Lisa was the most knowledgeable, professional designer I have ever worked with. She assessed my house, my personality, and my families lifestyle and took into account my husbands likes and dislikes as well before she came up with a plan that would benefit my whole family. She worked with my budget and utilized a lot of my decor so I would not spend in places that was not warranted. She drew up a plan and guided me step by step. Before a hired Lisa for my Family room she fixed a project that I thought I could do on my own and failed. She completely fixed the situation with simple creative solutions. Her creativity is something that is a gift. I then had her redo my bedroom, Dining Room and foyer. She and her team were very professional, and great to be around. I can't wait until my next project!!
After purchasing a new townhouse, I was looking for a designer to help transform the space into a home I would love. I called several other interior designers before I called Lisa. None of them seemed particularly interested in working with me on my project. I had a budget of $7,000 for furniture, design, and decorations for a large 1 bedroom apartment with two extra rooms (music room and mediation room). I got the feeling that the budget is what made them disinterested. I started to get a little bummed and then I called Lisa. She was like a breath of fresh air. I talked to Lisa and she was super excited about the project, she said she could work within any budget. The pricing for her services was also the most straightforward and fair of anyone I talked to.
There were three stages to the project. First, she came to the apartment, talked to me about what I wanted to do and what kind of style I like, and she took all her measurements and pictures. Second, she met with my girlfriend and I to show us the floor plan she drew (to scale) and the shopping list for all the furniture. She explained that she and her crew could get all the furniture, bring it in, and set it up, but that if we did it that way, it would leave less room in my budget for paint, decorations, etc. She also said that I could have her guys do the paint (she picked out amazing paint colors for us) but that they are the best and will cost more. She said that my money would go further if we painted ourselves or had a friend that paints.
This is the thing I loved most about working with her, I felt like she was on my side the whole time, trying to give me the best bang for my buck. I opted to get all the furniture in myself and had a friend paint to leave more room in the budget for part three. I sent her pictures of all the rooms with the furniture in place. She then went ahead and sourced all the things needed to finish the place, a couple of side tables, lamps, pillows, clocks, plants, and various other decorative items. When she was done sourcing everything she arranged a date for her and her crew to come and finish the place (bring everything in, put it in place or mount it).
Experiencing the big reveal was one of the best moments of my life. I am in awe of her work. Everyone that comes over to see the place likes to use the same word, wow. I know what I'm good at and what I'm not. I know good art when I see it, but I'm not an artist. Lisa really is. Hiring her is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Thank you Lisa.
I am obsessed with how my bedroom turned out! Lisa took everything that I asked for into consideration and made my room even better that I ever could have imagined. I would 100% recommend Evenflow Interiors, and I would definitely use Lisa again!!!
