Once Christmas, Hannukah, and New Years’ are behind us, there’s a long stretch of winter ahead that’s strangely… calm. Without the chaos of holiday planning, there’s plenty of time to turn our attention to other projects – why not shake it up with that home design idea you’ve been meaning to try?

Idea #1 – Retile the floors (or wall, or shower)
For this project, you can think big, small, or anywhere in between. From a tiny nook to the entire foyer floor, trying out a new tile can add any kind of mood you’re looking for, from tranquil to bold.
Idea #2 – Open up the floor plan.
There’s so many reasons to love an open floor plan. It makes a space feel lighter and brighter, as well as giving plenty of space for everyone you love to gather and spend time together. If you’ve been craving flexibility and recharged energy in your home, an open floor plan could be for you.
Idea #3 – Curate a vintage selection.
If you’re looking to add depth to your space, vintage pieces are a great way to build it in. We love perusing markets and shops to find these special, one-of-a-kind pieces that bring warmth and soul. Vintage pieces can take patience and time to find – so now is the perfect time to spend the next few months looking for those special, specific pieces that light up the room.
Idea #4 – Paint an arch.
Arches are having a design moment that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon. We love this design for a moment of fun and whimsy – it would be particularly great to add some sparkle to a kids’ room, playroom, or entryway.
#5 – Create the ultimate home bar.
Just because New Years’ is behind us doesn’t mean the party has to stop! Creating a gorgeous home bar setup is easier than you think – a beautiful cart, glassware set, and smartly curated set of bottles is all you need.
